Step by step towards sustainability

Spelsberg stands for sustainability and resource conservation. Since many years we have been avoiding the use of substances in our products, which are harmful to health. Additionally, we were one of the first manufacturers to develop solutions specifically for sustainable energy, and always keep an eye on the impact on the environment in all our processes.

Waste avoidance, reuse, recycling, further utilization, disposal: Spelsberg deals with waste according to this principle, the so-called waste hierarchy.
The responsible use of raw materials, energy and environmentally friendly procurement are a top priority for us.
Therefore, we are particularly committed to make a contribution.

The EU legal basis for the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) is Directive 2012/19/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council on waste electrical and electronic equipment (the so-called WEEE Directive). The WEEE Directive was implemented nationally by the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.

The WEEE Directive sets out requirements for the disposal of WEEE. The basic principle here is the product responsibility of the manufacturers. According to this, manufacturers bear waste management responsibility for their products throughout their entire service life.

The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety publishes the quantitative targets annually on its website.
Manufacturers may refer to the publication for compliance with the extended information obligations under Article 2 of Section 18 ElektroG.
